How the price is worked out
- Cost to make = (materials + hours × hourly rate) plus overheads.
- What you keep = cost plus your profit. This is also a fair wholesale price.
- Price = what you keep, plus the fixed fee, divided by (1 − fee percentage), so the fees come out of the buyer's price, not your pay.

How do I price my knitting or crochet?
Add up materials, your time at an hourly rate, and a share for overheads like tools and packaging. Add profit on top, then allow for the fees your shop or marketplace takes. The calculator does each step and shows what you really earn per hour.
What hourly rate should I charge?
Whatever you’d accept for your time: many makers start near their local minimum wage and raise it as they get faster and better known. Even if you don’t charge full rate, it’s worth seeing what you earn per hour at the price you pick.
What is a wholesale price?
The price you’d sell to a shop that resells your work. Shops usually double it for their retail price, so wholesale is roughly cost plus profit, and your own retail price should be similar to what the shop would charge.
Which fees should I include?
Everything taken from a sale: marketplace listing and transaction fees, payment processing, and currency conversion. Check your platform’s current fee page and enter the percentage and any fixed fee per sale.
