    Ideas for your tracker

    • Mood blanket. One row a day in the colour of your mood. It’s a gentle end-of-day habit, and a record you can wrap yourself in.
    • Sky blanket. Look up at the same time each day (lunchtime works well) and pick the colour that fits: sunny, cloudy, rain or snow.
    • Reading tracker. Colour each day by how long you read, with a bright colour for the day you finish a book.
    • Your own. Steps, sleep, walks with the dog, cups of tea: choose “Your own” and name the colours yourself.

    Tips

    • Pick a time of day and stick to it, so the squares are easy to compare.
    • Keep a neutral for days you forget. You can fill them in later, but a gap is fine too.
    • For a blanket, buy a little extra of the colours you expect most, and check the yarn totals for a year-long blanket.

    Common questions

    What is a year-in-pixels tracker?
A grid with one small square for every day of the year. Each evening you colour that day’s square by something you track, such as your mood, the sky or how long you read. By December the grid is a picture of your year.
How do I turn it into a mood or sky blanket?
Give each colour a yarn and work one row (or one granny square) a day in that day’s colour, just like a temperature blanket. For cross-stitch, fill one small square of stitches per day, with months across and days down.
What colours should I use for a mood tracker?
Anything that feels right to you. Most people use warm, bright colours for good days and cooler or darker colours for low days. Five to eight colours is plenty; too many and it’s hard to choose each evening.
Can I print a blank tracker to colour by hand?
Yes. Set up your colours, then use “Print a blank tracker”. You get an empty grid for the year with your key underneath, ready for pencils or pens.
    Is my tracker saved?
Yes, in this browser on this device. Nothing is sent to us. Use the same browser each day, or print your grid now and then as a backup.
