Chunky Cable Cowl
Big 8-stitch cables in super bulky yarn. Knits up in a couple of evenings.

Gauge swatch
Swatch 2 repeats in pattern.
Instructions
Edge
Cast on (example: 84 sts). Join. Purl 1 rnd, knit 1 rnd, purl 1 rnd.
Cables
C8F: slip 4 to cable needle, hold in front, k4, k4 from cable needle.
Rnds 1–9: *P2, k8, p2; rep from * to end.
Rnd 10: *P2, C8F, p2; rep from * to end.
Work rnds 1–10 three times, then rnds 1–4 once more.
Edge
Purl 1 rnd, knit 1 rnd. Bind off purlwise, working k2tog over each cable to stop flaring.
Finishing
- Weave in ends.
- Steam lightly.
Designer’s notes
- Tighter at the neck? Cast on 72 (24 in) instead.
- Holding two strands of worsted together gives about the same gauge.
