A cosy tube in double moss stitch: a 4-round repeat that’s easy to read and lies flat.

Instructions
Edge
Cast on (example: 118 sts). Join. Work 4 rnds of *k1, p1* rib.
Double moss
Rnds 1–2: *K1, p1; rep from * to end.
Rnds 3–4: *P1, k1; rep from * to end.
Repeat rnds 1–4 until the cowl is 9.5 in (24 cm) tall.
Edge
Work 4 rnds of *k1, p1* rib. Bind off in rib.
Finishing
- Weave in ends.
- Block.
Designer’s notes
- Make it an infinity scarf: 60 in around and 8 in tall (270 sts).
- Double moss is also called Irish moss (UK: double moss / US: moss stitch).
