Eyelet Crescent Shawlette
A top-down garter crescent with eyelet rows every ten rows. Wears like a scarf, drapes like a shawl.

Instructions
Cast on
Cast on 7 sts.
Body
RS rows: K3, yo, knit to last 3 sts, yo, k3. 2 sts increased.
WS rows: K3, yo, knit to last 3 sts, yo, k3. 2 sts increased.
Eyelet row (every 10th row, starting on row 9, so always a RS row: rows 9, 19, 29…): K3, yo, *k2tog, yo; rep from * to last 4 sts, k1, yo, k3.
The count is always odd, so the eyelet row always ends with k1 before the edge.
Continue until the shawlette measures your depth at the centre (example: 132 rows).
Edge
Work 1 more eyelet row, knit 3 rows, then bind off very loosely.
Finishing
- Block into a crescent, pinning each eyelet point along the lower edge.
- Weave in ends.
Designer’s notes
- The yarn-overs at both edges on every row are what curve the shawl into a crescent.
- Use a gradient cake from the outside and the colour moves from neck to edge.
