Ribbed Fingerless Gloves
Sideways rows in the back loop make a stretchy rib. Fold, seam, leave a gap for the thumb.

- Worsted (4) wool or blend.
- Hook
- H-8 (5 mm)
- Sizes
- Adult S (7 in), M (7.5 in), L (8.5 in) around the knuckles. Example: M.

- 13 sts and 12 rows = 4 in (10 cm) in hdc back loop only
- Yarn needed
- About 130 yd (120 m) worsted for a pair.

Instructions
Glove (make 2)
Ch (example: 28). Row 1: Hdc (UK htr) in 3rd ch from hook and each ch (26).
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, hdc in back loop only of each st. Repeat to your row count.
Finishing
- Fold so the first and last rows meet. Seam from the cuff end for 4.5 in (11 cm).
- Leave 1.75 in (4.5 cm) open for the thumb, then seam to the top.
- Weave in ends.
Designer’s notes
- Longer gauntlet: add 3 in to the stitch count (about 10 more sts).
- Work a round of sc (UK dc) around the thumb gap for a neater edge.
