Twist Ear Warmer
A ribbed band worked sideways and finished with a front twist. Uses less than half a skein.
- Yarn
- Worsted (4) wool or alpaca.
- Hook
- H-8 (5 mm)
- Sizes
- Child to adult large (hat chart head sizes). Example: adult M, head 22 in.
- Example gauge
- 14 sts and 16 rows = 4 in (10 cm) in sc back loop
- Yarn needed
- About 80 yd (73 m) worsted.
- Stitch multiple
- even rows

Instructions
Band
Ch (example: 15). Row 1: Sc (UK dc) in 2nd ch from hook and each ch (14). Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in back loop only across. Repeat to your row count. Fasten off, leaving a 12 in tail.
Finishing
- Lay the band flat and bring the ends together. Fold each end in half lengthwise and slot one fold inside the other.
- Seam through all four layers. Turn so the seam sits inside.
- Weave in ends.
