Ch 17 and work 8 rows.
Instructions
Cloth
Ch (example: 33).
Row 1: (Sc (UK dc), dc (UK tr)) in 3rd ch from hook, *sk (UK miss) next ch, (sc, dc) in next ch; rep from * to end. (16 pairs)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn. *Sk next dc, (sc, dc) in next sc; rep from * to end.
Repeat row 2 until square.
Border
Sc evenly around, 3 sc in each corner. Join and fasten off.
Finishing
- Weave in ends.
- Wash once before gifting; cotton shrinks a little.
Designer’s notes
- The same stitch makes a lovely textured blanket; use the calculator for the chain.
- A hanging loop: ch 12 at one corner at the end of the border and sl st (UK ss) back into the corner.
