Griddle Stitch Wrap with Shell Ends
Alternating sc and dc make a dense, flat fabric with a subtle texture. Shell edges finish the short ends.

Instructions
Row 1
Ch (example: 93). Sc (UK dc) in 2nd ch from hook, dc (UK tr) in next ch, *sc in next ch, dc in next ch; rep from * to end. (92)
Griddle
Every row: Ch 1, turn. *Sc in next st, dc in next st; rep from * to end. Because the count is even, each sc lands on a dc and each dc on a sc.
Work to 69 in (175 cm).
Shell ends
On each short end: sc in first st, *sk (UK miss) 2 sts, 5 dc in next st, sk 2 sts, sc in next st; rep from * 14 more times, sc in last st. Fasten off.
Finishing
- Weave in ends.
- Steam block.
Designer’s notes
- If the edge looks untidy, work the final dc of each row into the very last stitch, hidden under the turning chain.
- Scarf version: 7 in = 32 sts (6 × 5 + 2).
