Moss Stitch Stroller Blanket
Moss stitch (also called linen or granite stitch) is only sc and ch, but it looks woven and drapes softly.

- Worsted (4) soft, washable yarn in 3–4 colours for stripes.

Chain 24, work 20 rows, measure the centre.
Instructions
Foundation
Chain the even count (example: 112).
Moss stitch
Row 1: Sc (UK dc) in 4th ch from hook, *ch 1, sk (UK miss) next ch, sc in next ch; rep from * to end.
Row 2: Ch 2, turn. Sc in first ch-1 sp, *ch 1, sc in next ch-1 sp; rep from * to end, working the last sc into the turning-ch space.
Repeat row 2. Change colour every 6 rows for stripes.
Work to 34 in (86 cm).
Border
Sc evenly around, 3 sc in each corner. Work 3 more rounds of sc.
Finishing
- Weave in ends inside the border.
- Block flat.
Designer’s notes
- If the blanket slants, check that you’re working into the turning-ch space at the end of every row.
- Scale up with the maths: a throw is (50 − 1.8) × 4 ≈ 192 ch.
