Classic Ripple Blanket
Waves of dc stripes. One pattern row, peaks at both edges, and a stitch count the calculator can set for you.

Gauge swatch
Ch 27, work a dc row (25 dc = 2 repeats + 1) and 6 ripple rows.
Instructions
Foundation
Ch (sts + 2) (example: 147). Row 1: Dc (UK tr) in 3rd ch from hook and each ch across (example: 145 dc).
Ripple
Every row: Ch 2, turn. 2 dc in first st, *dc in next 4 sts, dc3tog (UK tr3tog) over next 3 sts, dc in next 4 sts, 3 dc in next st; rep from *, but end the last repeat with 2 dc in the last st instead of 3.
Count after the first few rows: the count never changes.
Change colour every 2 or 4 rows.
Work to 60 in (152 cm).
Finishing
- Weave in ends along the edges.
- Block, pinning out each peak and valley.
Designer’s notes
- Work in the back loop only for a ridged, textured ripple.
- Bigger waves: dc in next 6, dc3tog, dc in next 6, 3 dc in next (multiple of 16 + 1).
